Here’s one my most cooked dishes & a favourite among my children ☺️. It’s a simple fish fry with a side of veggies sautéd with spicy & sweet sauces.
INGREDIENTS:
1kg Rohu fish
1tbsp Black Pepper
Salt to taste
3tbsp Corn Flour
Juice of a Lime
5-6 cloves of Garlic
1 medium Onion (chopped)
1 tbsp saunf (Fennel) seeds
FOR THE SAUCE:
1 large Tomato
1 large carrot
1 large cucumber
1 tbsp Sweet Chilli sauce
2 tbsp Krtchup
2tsp Soy Sauce
1 tbsp Vinegar
Oil for frying
PROCEDURE:
1. To 1kg chopped Rohu fish, add 1 tbsp Black pepper, 1 tsp salt, 3 tbsp cornflour and juice of a lime. Mix well.
2. Deep fry fish until golden brown (this should take around 5 minutes). Set aside.
3. To a heated pan, add 2-3 tbsp Oil.
4. Add 5-6 cloves of chopped garlic.
5. Once the garlic starts browning, add 1 tbsp Saunf(Fennel) seeds and chopped onions.
6. Add chopped tomato, carrot and cucumber ( You can add whatever vegetables you wish to for this step- could be leftovers or just veggies of your preference)
7.Add 1 tbsp sweet chilli sauce 2 tbsp tomato ketchup, 2 tsp soy sauce and 1 tbsp vinegar.
8.Once your veggies start to soften, pour them over the fried fish pieces.
Pairs well with fried or plain rice. Enjoy!
